Comments:
I was still feeling my hip a little bit but I took some ibuprofen and sucked it up. Also, I picked my last day of track ever to forget to pack my trainers, so I had to wear my ones from 9th grade, my first pair ever that were in my gym locker. Ironic right? I ran the 4x8, starting with Ashton, to Dakota, to me, to Liam and we ran a much faster time than ever. It was spectacular. We ran an 8:40.00, my split was 2:13.5. We came in second behind Chittenango but we destroyed everyone else and did much better than we were supposed too. Much later I did the 3200 and even though I felt pretty tired before we even started I had a good race. I don't know what my splits were but I think my first mile was around 5:20 and I ended up running 10:50, beating Elijah by half a stride. I came in 4th so it was a good race and a season best. As for the meet itself, it was extremely close and it came down to the very end, thanks to a bit of luck we beat Homer 100-97. Everyone who came scored too which was amazing. We took a victory lap to celebrate. Coach was ecstatic. We only had 17 people compete total. After the meet we stopped at Byrne Dairy for ice cream and coach paid for all of it. An amazing way to end my team sports career.
