A Good morning run

June 9, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70ish and the sun was up early

Comments:
Got myself to wake up at 6 and was out the door by 6:23. Felt stiff and sleepy at first, but did manage to loosen up half way through. Mostly, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't feel as slow or heavy as I expected to. It ins't that I felt very good, but I didn't feel bad, and that cheered me up.

Ran down to Nevada, into rock Creek along Broad Branch. Turned up through the steep trail that leads to Jennifer between 28th and 29th streets (through the woods where my mother played as a child). dropped through Equitation field and got on the Western ridge. Looped back after taking the horse trail over the knoll. Returned via Military and then Broad Branch (Hi Abby's house) and home via Northampton and McKinley. While on the trails in the park, I actually felt really good and began to take in the quiet beauty of an early, well lit, June morning and the heavy damp that lay everywhere after last night's soaking rains. ...Quickly after that little high, I felt the fatigue of dubious fitness, but it was fun while it lasted, and I even sought out some low-lying water heavy branches (Berenson style) with which I could dampen my head. I need more runs like this.
