a glimmer of hope

June 17, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70 and much less humid

Comments:
Better weather, familiar trails, and a new day all seemed to make this a good run. Maybe my best of the summer, mentally, at least. I wasn't particularly fast, but my body felt decent and my attitude was positive, which was a nice step forward for a solo, quality run this summer. I even got to thinking I was getting into a groove.

Left home at 6:45 am and ran to Sam' to see if he'd gotten my email and was waiting for me. He wan't but I took a moment to do some leg swings. Pace to his house was just under 8:00 pace. Using the old trusted mile splits through Glover, I appear to have been running around 7:35 average down and back (coming back was taking a fair bit more effort to maintain the same slip as down hill there.) Turned at the Whitehaven Tr intersection. Last mile from Tenley to home, I was focused on form and an upright, quick stride. That mile split was around 6:45. Turned at 27:37 and finished in 54:23. clearly, while it felt like I was accelerating the whole way, I only shaved off time in the final, downhill mile to home. Still, a good solid run and just what I need to keep doing.
