July 6, 2015 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Well I was looking forward to the run home from the policy institute all day, but quickly changed my tune once I got going. This was a really rough run, my worst so far. There were a variety of stops, between traffic lights, shoe tying (Julia would be proud, I eventually double knotted my shoes), breathing issues, and directions. It also felt really difficult muscularly, in my calves and hamstrings especially. At one point I tried to cut it short but I made a wrong turn, and ended up making it longer instead. As I neared my house, I ended up walking the last half block because I couldn't breathe very well and it seemed pointless to stop and then start again at that point. When I got home, I found that I was locked out. After I made it inside, I found that I was kind of lightheaded and dizzy, and my vision went a little dark for a second. I also had that weird sensation where you feel like you can feel your blood pulsing through your veins. This is probably because I didn't drink any water today, and I was really hungry when I started running. So I'm just going to chalk this up to the weather and dehydration, and hope that its better tomorrow. Strength was the dead bugs, superpeople, and push-up progression thing that we've been doing at STA

On the bright side, I looked at my old logs and discovered that some of my steady runs have been faster than my race pace at DCXC, so that's kind of exciting (or disheartening about DCXC.)
