Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Would have liked to run with Tristan, Erkin, and Silas, but they were in the 30 minute group, so we only ran together for a bit. I was in the 40-45 minute group, and the plan was to do a Mass Ave out-and-back. Soon into the run, we made the decision that it would be worth it to go a little longer and avoid the dreadful hills on Mass by traversing the much gentler slope of Western and then taking Wisconsin back to the Cathedral. We (being me and three STA guys) ended up running with the 30 minute group for a while on Mass Ave, but some of the people in my group started to pull away and I had to stick with them. It wasn't an issue of going too fast, it was simply an issue of leaving my teammates (who happen to be more eager conversationalists on runs so far). By the time we got to Wisconsin, the heat was really bothering me and another guy, so we stopped at Pete's Pizza and got ice water, which we were careful to drink sparingly. I even took two handfuls of ice cubes and ran with them for about a half-mile in an attempt to cool my wrists and palms, hence the title. All-in-all, a pretty fun--if not quiet--run.
