Had an unexpectedly busy day preparing for my trip, and realized at 5:00 that I would be better off getting everything done and running later than going to practice. Ended up running at 8:00, taking Military to Wisconsin. Followed Wisconsin until turning around at the Whole Foods in Georgetown (right before Observatory Ln). Felt pretty good, despite slowing down a bit on the way back. Had some unexpected foot pain on the first few blocks of my run (on the bottom-front of my left foot, right underneath the base of my middle toe). I was pretty worried about any possible injury and how I would complete the run, but I took off my shoes, took a quick break in an attempt to allow my foot to adjust to the impact, and kept going. After a few more blocks, I felt my feet begin to heat up, swell a bit, and fill the shoe like on any other normal run. I think my foot was hurting because I so quickly went from sitting down to steady run, unlike a normal day with drills and a warmup. Luckily, my feet were fine for the rest of the run. My breathing felt good, but it was still really hot at 8:30.
