July 30, 2015 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I've been wanting to do go on a morning run by myself for a while, so I woke up at 6:45 to get it in. Rhianna had said that Connecticut is flat if you head out towards the beltway, so I took Rittenhouse to Chevy Chase Circle and headed out on Connecticut. It's definitely not flat, but by the standards of our neighborhood, it's pretty great. I turned around at my grandmother's assisted living home, after using the bathroom there (about 25 min into the run.) I thought about stopping in to say hello, but like any reasonable person, she was probably asleep at 7:20 AM. On the way back, I ran into Abby on her way to Walter Reed. I also turned on Primrose to get back and made a little detour to see Isabel's house.
Overall, didn't feel amazing. 48 minutes seemed like a very long time. But it was really good to go on my own at my own pace. When I was about a block from my house, an old man who I'd never seen before said "almost there!" Hopefully it was just a coincidence that he was right, and I don't have a stalker.
Also, I should explain the title. I passed a street that at first glance seemed to be called Reynard street (the main character in a book I loved when I was younger) but then when I glanced again, it was called Rosemary Street. Turns out it was actually called Raymond street, and I probably need to get my eyes checked.
Strength:
2 rounds of super people (75 each time), push-up rotation (3 per type), and super people (25)
also some squats and lunges because my hamstrings felt weak today.
