Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Had plans to run or cross train yesterday, but after returning home at around 10:30, I was dead. I left Delhi on Sunday night and got back Monday morning, but because of the time zones, It had been around 20 hours. I managed to go on a 45 minute hike with my family, which felt exhausting. I ended up crashing at 6, and I slept for 15 hours. Despite being well-rested, I felt pretty awful on my run due to days of dehydration. I went down Military, onto Wisconsin, right on Van Ness, and left on Glover-Archbold. Turned around at New Mexico Ave. My legs and arms felt much stronger than I anticipated, but my breathing was a little rough and I got pretty exhausted after 30 minutes. Hopefully the lethargy is just due to a lack of proper nutrition and hydration over the past few days. I stopped at Bloo Moo for water on the way back, which made quite a difference on the last mile. The rain was also fun and welcoming after a surprisingly dry two weeks. Over the next few days I'll try to transfer my paper logs of the past two weeks to here. My stride felt a little strange for the first half of the run, which I think is due to the fact that my runs over the past two weeks have been spent looking down--at either a treadmill screen or my footing. For that reason, my stride felt more natural on the trails, and it took until GDS (on the way back) to settle into a normal stride again.
