Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Despite Jackson telling me that he and Tristan were going to run at about the same time that I was today, their ambitions to do a long, quick run convinced me to go on my own. Maybe next week. This run wasn't long, but it was quicker than I anticipated, which is probably due to the new route, on which I couldn't gauge mileage--and thereby pace-- as easily. I felt good, but at some points I couldn't tell if I was moving quickly or slowly because my strides were long, but my legs felt heavy. Maybe I was just tired. I was most definitely dehydrated--something I need to get in the habit of fixing now that I'm on a less rigid meal schedule. Took Military to Wisconsin to Dorset to the CCT, then south on the CCT until Mass, where I got to enjoy just a bit of General Soul-crusher as I made my up to Westmoreland and then Ward. On my way to Ward, more than a couple of alternate routes came to mind--ones that would keep the time about the same, require minimal detour, and avoid the hill. The relatively small hills had worn me out more than they should have, possibly because all my runs in India were completely flat. All the more reason to tackle the hill up to Ward, I told myself. Halfway through I settled into a rhythm and finished the hill nicely. I turned left on Nebraska, planning on taking it to Wisconsin, then Wisconsin home, but Tristan drove by me and told me to meet him at GDS. I was a little confused as to why he wasn't running with Jackson already, but I veered off Nebraska onto 42nd and headed to GDS nonetheless. Apparently Tristan forgot his shoes at home, causing the delay. He and Jackson convinced me to join them for their ab workout, which was quite tiring and fun. It was too late in my run to go with them, so I just took Wisconsin straight home afterwards.
Sorry for the long log. I had a lot to say.
