Awful

August 15, 2015 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I wanted to have a relatively lighter, easier day today,--even if it was just by a slight margin--but it was one of the hardest runs I've done all summer. My entire torso is somehow more sore from Tristan's workout today than it was yesterday, and I still have yet to fix the incredibly easily solved problem of dehydration. Ten minutes into the run my mouth was pasty and dry, and I was searching for places to get water. I started out going south on Wisconsin, turning right on Mass (but not after heavily considering going into St Alban's to find a water fountain; I had already tried Sidwell earlier on, but the fence was locked). I decided to turn right on Glover-Archbold, as that both allowed me to try to get water at McDonald's and gave me more route options. Luckily they gave water, and, knowing but not caring that I should drink no more than three quarters of a cup to prevent feeling sick on the rest of the run, I drank three and a half cups of ice-water. It was worth it. After looking at my watch, I realized that my original plans to take Van Ness back to Mass and then Mass to Western and Western to home would yield too long a run for even a normal day, much less today. So I followed Van Ness only to Nebraska, where I turned right, went to Wisconsin, and then took Wisconsin home. My stride slowly became more and more constricted on Nebraska, but I made an effort to focus on form on Wisconsin, and it definitely helped to deal with the end of this run.
