Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Great run today. After a fast but manageable warmup lap and drills on the sprint track, today's surprisingly large group headed out. We went on 42nd and Chesapeake to get on River, which we took to the CCT. We then went north on the trail until Connecticut, where we turned right. Went south on Connecticut, and turned right on Western to get to Wisconsin. Took Wisconsin past school to Nebraska, which I took to 42nd and then went back to school.
Started out the run with everybody and sped up with Noah, Tristan, and Frankie on the CCT, where we kept a brisk and (at most times) fairly comfortable pace. Frankie and I were both a little apprehensive of continuing so aggressively once we got to Connecticut, so we let Tristan and Noah go ahead. A few minutes after turning onto Connecticut, Frankie started feeling lightheaded and exhausted, so we kept it easy, but certainly not slow, on Connecticut. Before turning right on Western, we went two blocks south on Connecticut to take a water break at Jetties. We still stayed easy on Western, but I was determined to finish the run with Frankie. Unfortunately, he had some stomach problems near the end of Western, so he stopped for a bathroom at Cosi and convinced me to go ahead (alright, fine, I didn't need a lot of convincing). I felt really light and quick, so I decided to extend (as described above); it was certainly more interesting than a few laps around the block. This might have been my longest run ever, and with every great run like this I get more and more exited for cross country to start.
