Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Still chilly
Comments:
For our enjoyable 4:10 practice, we drove to Mount Hope, a 1000-acre estate once owned by some members of the Rockefeller family. We warmed up with Sarah's strength routine. Despite uneven footing, peaking through the trees to look down at pristine autumnal landscapes made the first part of the run worthwhile. The second half was deeper in some wooded areas I remember from WOOLF, the hopper trail in particular. Once we had got back onto the road, passing Pete's house, Jay and I picked up the pace significantly. Although my legs were tired, I still had a nice cadence--something I've been paying more attention to since Pete talks about it so much. Plus I was able to zone out, and by convincing myself that I had 10 miles left to run when in fact I had maybe 2, the completion of the run was all the more satisfying. I even got in a full static stretch.
