Walked thru the Fire

Comments:
Really long and tough workout but I feel accomplished. We jogged over to cass to do the workout.
The workout was:
A Fartlek workout
3min tempo//2min rec//2 min tempo//1min rec//1min tempo//30sec rec//30sec tempo X7 sets

We counted the amount of laps as we went on and I ended up getting 21.75 laps, each lap was 1000 meters. So that's like 13.5 miles of workout. We did drills and some strides beforehand. We started off a little easy on the first set I stayed with Silas and Ian cause that's what I thought I was supposed to do. My legs felt a little sore at the start but that went away soon. Some of my upper body muscles were feeling it also from the lifting. About halfway into the second set coach told me to do my own tempo so I sorta just took off. I was only a little further than Silas and Ian when I was done. After this point I went at an increased pace and I was breathing hard on each one. Each set felt more and more tough. My knee started hurting around the start of the 3rd set it was a sharp pain and I wasn't sure how much I could do. A couple times I contemplated stopping cause it hurt but the pain subsided after a few different tempos. The 3 min and 2 min tempos were definitely the hardest. It was hard to continue to push yourself for that long. I was running by myself from the second set on so I had to keep telling myself to push and push and that helped. My shoes came untied about halfway through the 3rd set so I had to re tie them so I missed a min recovery jog. After the 5th set my legs were just dead it felt like they couldn't move anymore. I just had to pump my arms more and more and my legs would follow. My last set was definitely a lot more quick than the rest cause I wanted to finish strong. All in all 13.5 mile in a workout is a lot so I felt pretty good for doing that much. The jog back was rough even the pace we went at which was really slow felt really tough it felt as hard as the workout my legs were just shot. We hard to push the last part to get back. My muscle over my knee hurt on the way back and it hurts when I bend it now. I stretched after.
