October 21, 2015 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Mild
Comments:
After arriving at Mount Hope Sarah drove some of us up the initial hill because we're ostensibly peaking Saturday. Ian, Walker and I did moseyed up to the summit, stopping twice, before doing another brisk 38 minutes back to campus, with a nearly constant gradual downhill. The pace during this section was probably sub-7, but I felt surprisingly strong.
Many new developments have occurred that have changed my outlook so much they're worth nothing:
1) I finally got a locker in the music building so never again will I have to worry about hauling my guitar to and from my room!
2) While my night of sleep was SEVERELY interrupted by the cough, I was not that exhausted during the day. I also got a chest x-ray today, so if there is anything horribly wrong, I'll find out in 24 hours.
3) At last I have mentally committed myself to tapering; I don't have to feel like I'm working that hard every single day leading up to the meet. Tomorrow I'll probably do around 4, 6 on Friday, and health permitting, I'll just go out fast and see what I can do on Saturday.
The only problem is that this week I don't feel that fit. Surely the past month of work will catch up to me sometime. Won't it?
