Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Run felt great today. We started out pretty easy but our runs always get a little quicker in the black diamond trail. My arms felt relaxed. I realized that I should stop focusing on making my arm form better if it was already good. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I gotta remember this. I'm always trying to get better at something but sometimes I just gotta stick to what's working. When we got to the hospital hill we made sure that we kept it easy. I led it and tried to maintain a good pace where we could all stay together. We stayed together pretty well. And the hill felt tough like always but not that tough. We went back down the hill and went straight into the tempo. We sorta progressed into the tempo and I think that worked very well. We started at a slower pace like 5:40-5:45. It felt really relaxed then we slowly got faster and faster naturally. This is how it should be and I impictured what I would do in a race. I didn't even feel like I was pushing it just keeping a good steady pace. My leg form felt good. And my arms were pretty natural. We stayed as a pretty good pack. Near the end of the black diamond trail I got too caught up in how good I was feeling and I started to try to pull away but then I caught myself and thought it would benefit the team better if we stick it out together and pushed each other. I could still talk at this pace the entire time. We got out at about 10-11 mins and so we went down along the inlet to a turnaround on floral Ave. then we went back. When we turned around Ian was only like 20 meter behind and he looked good. Coke was only like 100 meters behind so he was working hard. When we got done I didn't even feel all that tired I haven't felt this good on a tempo in awhile. Then we took our time to come back to the high school. Stretched and drills afterwards.
