I dreaded this day as soon as it started at midnight: I'd written a low quality paper the day it was due, sat in the library for several hours accomplishing very little--mainly distracting myself with the morbid book I found on the fourth floor, Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming Into Existence (I was so curious about such a revolting point of view that I checked it out). Thoughts of the team, the coaches, training, workouts, the top 7, NESCACs, etc. had clouded my mind and been the only thing I could pay attention to since Sahil and my parents left. But once the sun set, the academic reality of my economics midterm and that I had done almost none of the history reading dawned on me all too suddenly. Luckily my roommate helped with price ceilings and externalities such that by about 1:30am, I was feeling sort of prepared.

Hyped up on coffee throughout the morning, my last minute studying was going well. French class at 1:10 made me pretty certain I'm not going to major in French. I just rushed through the midterm and did the questions in order of point value; blessing of blessings, Prof. Godlonton had shown some clemency in terms of asking about things I actually studied.

I've said before that the boredom of econ class is so intense that it makes practice all the more gratifying. Ran Blair with a large group. The pace was consistent throughout and I can't even express how great of mood I was in; since the end of the midterm, the day only improved and I finally got to catch up with Jay.

Now back to deluding myself that I'm going to run an absurdly fast 5k on Wednesday (until I realize I also take classes here . . .)
