On the warm up my leg felt the best it has ever has this season before a race. My plan was to go out slow with Olivia Riley and then pick people off as she usually ends up around top 5. I thought my plan was going well until we hit the mile mark in like 5:45 (kinda doubt this was the mile mark tho) which wasn't as slow as I thought it was going to be. I found the course really difficult especially the last like 800 meters it seemed to turn and wind forever, at lot more than I remembered during the warmup. I felt like I was just shuffling up the last hill. I came tenth and was one place/ 4 seconds away from qualifying for states so I'm super upset about that. That is definitely not going to happen next year. Coach says he wants to take me along to states with the girls which is super bittersweet knowing that I could have been racing if I ran just 4 seconds faster. I think going to states will be good for me though so I can see what the atmosphere like and really be ready to kill it next year. Super proud of Sylv and Lizzy tho because they had great races. Now the teams just got to decide if we want to go to regionals or not...I think we are split 50/50ish. I'm super torn because I really want to go and have one last race/ have that experience but at the same time I don't want to keep on training super hard on my banged up leg and make it worse.
