Crabcakes? I don't actually know, but it might as well be, because Brandywine hill is crazy long. Ran to fort reno, where we did drills. Then took Chesapeake, transitioned onto Brandywine, and took that all the way down to Rock Creek (where it ends at Broad Branch). Did 1 long hill, 2 starting at the halfway point of the hill itself (the Linnean Ave intersection) and finishing with the same 200m flat crest, and 1 more long hill (from Broad branch to the normal end. The hill felt good, and I got more and more comfortable pushing myself earlier on in each pickup as the workout progressed. I hadn't done a hill workout all season, so it was nice to see that I could still push it. I'm finally getting over this cold, which is always a good thing. Anthony gave us the option to do an extended cooldown, which I chose. I now know that an extended cooldown, in this situation, is taken to mean the hill of death. Because it was getting pretty dark, we ran the dirt section pretty carefully, watched our step on the thorns, and then ran the end however we wanted. I decided to start picking it up near the end of the brambles, when I was no longer concerned about tripping. Ran back on Van Ness up to Wisconsin in the dark. Really good run, and I'm glad to be near full strength again. Congrats to the Boys Varsity Soccer team, btw. Sad that I couldn't see the winning PK.
