Exercise Type: Run
Weather: low forties and damp, cloudy, Petaluma winter feel
Comments:
I'm hoping to backlog the past week today. Most of the week has been the usual Christmas break of lethargy, achiness and pathetically unfocused training with excuses galore. Today I had prepared my mind for a longer run out I street and having been up and about more than most days by the time I started, 4:40pm, I actually got into a productive rhythm and truly enjoyed myself. Needed a stop in the trees about 15 minutes in, but otherwise felt good once I loosened up. Always love the run out I street extended and When I turned at the big rock, darkness had basically fallen and the close-in gloom of the low ceiling, the odor of farms in my nose, and the greening fields was wonderfully familiar and invigorating. I turned at 24 minutes, but made it back to Carol's in 21 minutes. Return pace, espceially with the downhills into town was probably sub 7 or faster. I was definitely working to maitain good form and pace for the last 2 miles, but all in all, it felt good to get a nice, quality training run in.
