January 3, 2016 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 30s, clear
Comments:
My feet have been hurting in a number of different ways since yesterday's run/striders. I even iced them in a nasty cold bowl of ice water yesterday, but they required a lot of massaging and rolling at 6:50 this morning while Tobi warmed up with a stretching rope. Spike, Stats, and the Bear(Nelson) joined us at 7:15(ish for someone...)
We ran East to RCP and south along ridge trail to the southern start of the Valley trail. Felt fine southward, but I knew I was running on borrowed time. The hill towards Jessie's house was my undoing. From there onwards, I'd crawl up hills and scoot down them to try to make up the inevitable gaps, despite their slowing up for me. I peeled off at Military (thanks for not accompanying me) and trudged up and down Military the rest to the way home. The final two blocks along Livingston took 2:15 (when feeling strong, that is always 2:00 or faster). Feet ache in pretty startling ways. Need to ice again. But I needed a run like this... And a few more weeks with this mileage.
