THE MEET!!

August 29, 2009 (Morning)

Comments:
I felt great about the meet! I got a lot better than my goal was: I was just hoping for below 25; I got 2 minutes below! I was really excited!

The first mile of the race had a rough start. I just didn't give it enough. I think I could have pushed a little harder, while still doing great the rest of the race. The one thing I really want to change about the race was the start.

The second mile was great! I passed a lot of people. Coach Bryce said that he would say "Just pass this group ahead" and then next time he saw me, they'd be way behind. I was so excited about passing so many people. Even in middle school, I never really passed people as much as just starting in front, but this is so much more satisfying!

The third mile was my best. I passed lots of people. I sprinted really hard at the end. The people in front of me were a while ahead, so I couldn't've really passed anyone; but I was still happy about my finish.

My goal for the season is to knock off around a half minute, maybe even a minute. I don't know if this is overly (or underly) ambitious...

I'm so excited for the season!!
