Barton 400s Workout #2

February 18, 2016 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
We did the same workout as last week, but it was easier today because I only had to do 12 instead of 14. Grace wasn't there so I had to run them on my own. I was aiming for about 110-113 second 400s, except after the workout I realized I miscounted and ran them all about 5-9 seconds fast. I looked at my watch every time I finished a 400 but I kept thinking that 1:46 was equal to 116 seconds, so I got really concerned about why my times were slow when they were actually a bit fast. I felt really good though. I'm pretty sure it was because of my new socks hahaha.

I went to the science talk before practice. It was about farming and conservation on the Galapagos Islands. The person giving the presentation turned out to be my neighbor which I didn't know until I talked about the lecture with my mom. The presenter's name is Wendy Wolford and she talked about how someone was needed to study the relationship between the environment and people on the Galapagos islands. That eventually led to her and a group of other researchers being hired to spend time studying the islands. It was a great presentation, but I'm more into chemistry and biology so I didn't find it as interesting as I was hoping it would be.
