Nothing like a workout which isn't run all out

February 28, 2016 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: temps were rising form 33 into the 40s, bright sun, perfect

Comments:
Ran from home to the STA to meet Jim Ehrenhaft by 8:00am. He was looking to run 5x600m just under 6 flat pace (2:10s). We alternated leading laps and as usual, I could tell he was secretly hoping to beat his modest target pace. We did. The recoveries were usually 200meters easy, but he took a 400m recov after #3 and I talked him out of doing that after #4. I ran all his intervals, but during his extended cooldown, I squeezed in another 600 giving myself only 100 jog before and after that one. I also took a full 200 recov before adding a 7th interval after Jim was done.

The entire workout was within my comfort zone and I feel a little embarrassed that I didn't challenge myself, but I certainly came away with some confidence, sense of pacing, and change of speed. Feeling like I needed to take the workout to the next level, I also ran the measured mile along Wisconsin Ave from Norton Pl. to the Tenely Dominoes in 5:58 which took focus and concentration. I ran:
2:11.1, 2:09.4, 2:08.6, 2:015, 2:07.9, 2:05.3, 1:56.8 on the track.
