15k hills

September 5, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: light clouds, low 70s. Good weather continues

Comments:
Trying to keep the distance up I took the long hill course after work. It's actually a pretty fair test of the third RTB leg in that I had already spent the majority of 8 hours on my earlier in the day and the actual leg will be fairly flat, not hilly. So hopefully the tougher route will compensate for the greater level of fatigue I'll be feeling. We'll see.

Anyway, the run went fairly well. Still feeling that left hammy and right shin. I focused a but better today and ramped it up at a few points. I'm thinking that actual adrenaline will be a better motivator, but right now I definitely feel like I can dig a bit deeper when I need it, but still have a decent cruising pace

I decided to put a compression sock on the right leg to help it recover a bit better (I always wear one on the left leg due to circulation issues). It seems to be helping so far. I'll have to pack some extra for RTB.

Day off tomorrow and then another shot at mile repeats on Monday afternoon. Git out now!
