Today was a rough day for me. Started the day off with waking up at 6:30 so I could eat then head to Dryden for the ACT. Did feel good about it but will probably take it again, in the fall of senior year. Was sitting down all day so I felt still on the workout for the first part. Didn’t get to the track until 8 and by then all the gates were locked so I had to climb over to get in. In the process my phone fell and broke. So it was a bad way to start out the workout. Anyways I started with a longer warmup into Fall Creek. Came back, did some drills and strides and hopped right into my workout. The first 800 felt harder than it should have. My pace was just around what I was aiming for but I felt tired and stiff. Did a 200m jog then went right into the next 800. This one was almost the exact same as the first 800, I felt the same and the time was just about the same. I left the track and started my 3 mile tempo around Stewart, then around the Golf course, then I turned around and went back around the high school and back to the track. My arch was really hurting me so I had to stop and stretch it out for a min or two right in the middle of my tempo, which sucked but it was what I needed because I felt a lot better of the rest of the workout. Because my arch was hurting my feet got stiff and that made my legs stiff and achilles very sore. Went back onto the track, did another 200m and really wanted to kill these last 800’s. I was breathing pretty hard and hurting but I pushed right through. My last two were a little faster than 5k pace but they were consistent with eachother. I hit 2:24 two times consecutively. Busted out the headlamp for the cooldown since it was pretty much pitch black in fall creek.
