Tonight was a bit of a disappointment. I set out to run a 5k, and it wasn't one of those days. It was one of those days in which every mile seems years away and your legs feel so heavy. I'm just getting back into shape, but it's still discouraging to look at your time after 3.2 miles and see 25+ minutes. I'm used to running 5k's between 20-21 minute range, which isn't that great but not even being able to get there yet is annoying. I'm not a patient person, and right now thats what I truly do need. I mean I did take six months off from running, I know I can't expect to jump right back in and run the times I ran when I was in superior shape. I just have to keep going. I have to constantly remind myself of why I run and who I run for. Running is my life, and I'll never forget that.
