ISL B Championships today. I haven't done a real run in like a month, so I wasn't expecting to PR, but I still probably had higher expectations than I should have. I did the mile and the 800 and neither was a great race, but I really shouldn't have expected them to be because I've done virtually no speed work this season. I don't feel like going into all the details of them all and writing lots of paragraphs, but right now I actually feel pretty satisfied with the effort I put in for them despite the not-as-good-as-I-hoped-for-times. Also, my shins barely hurt the whole time which is a great sign that maybe all that cross training actually helped and I can go into summer training nice and fresh! My stomach hurt a bit during the 8, but that's my fault because I couldn't resist one of Abigail's delicious brownies after the mile. :) Anyway, to try not to ramble too much more, I feel ok about this meet, and I had a lot of fun cheering for fabulous races and hanging out with all the amazing people on this team. I'm gonna miss the seniors so so so so so so so much next year. I love you guys so much!!! Special shoutout to Jessie because she was the first person I met on the team last year at summer running, and the whole year she's been so positive no matter what! Also, race shoutout to Ana for winning the race and breaking 6!!!!! I'm so proud! She's worked so hard this year! Alright I'm actually gonna stop typing soon, but last thing is that despite how fun racing is, I realized today that my favorite part of meets is right after the race when you hug everyone and fall into each other and that sounds kinda weird, but I think it says something really special about the team and who we are to make me feel that way! Love you guys!
