Comments:
I felt ok on the warmup, it was really slow. I didn't know what time my race was going off so I was a bit disoriented and the time went by really fast. I just tried not to think about my race at all and remained fairly calm. When we were on the line my toe was a little on it so I picked my foot up to move it back and suddenly the gun went off. I felt like I delayed at the start and then I had an anxious mindset for the rest of the race. Some Vestal girl, who I know is slower then me, passed me on the 1st lap and then she started to slow down it was so annoying and I didnt think I could keep up with the Elmira girls. I only heard like two people cheering and I kept thinking why can't I hear anyone. I wasnt very aware of where people were in the race, I was mostly focused on Aliziah Brooks. The third lap I tried to pick it up, i think it was a slower split though. I think I was like 50 meters from the finish when the gun was fired and I felt like I needed to go. The whole race I had no clue how my pacing was, I just went off of other people. I came in after Emily Mckay, which was suprising but I heard that she is injured. I ran 5:03 which I'm happy with but I was really hoping to break 5. Afterwards my lungs and chest were burning and I kept tripping over my legs. I sat down for awhile before cooling down, I felt so sick. Sylvia was really upset with her race and I started crying a little because I usually cry when I see other people crying. I just felt so drained. I found out that I got 6th which was really nice cause I got a ribbons. I was an alternate for the 4x4 and I sorta wanted to run it cause I want to know what my time would be but I knew I would really regret it. Nobody else is really having a good season and there are so many injuries and issues, its a little harder to enjoy my season.
