Comments:
Did the workout today because the rest of the team is doing it tomorrow morning and I have to work then and also have no rides anywhere because my parents are out of town for the weekend. I was really excited for this workout because it sounded tough and I haven't had a hard track workout all season. It was also really refreshing to do it by myself as I just had to push myself. I walked down to the track and did my warm up from there. There was no one there besides the lacrosse boys practicing. The workout was
3 sets of 3X300
First set at 3k race pace
second st 1500m race pace
third at faster than 1500 race pace
100m jog in between each rep and 3 mins between each set
I had no times to hit, so I think my times were a tiny bit faster than they were meant to be because I don't think I can race a 3k at that pace at this point in the season. What I noticed is that I always took the first 300 of each set out way too fast. Every race I have been in this season, my first lap has been significantly faster than the others, so that's something I need to work on. The last set was really brutal for me. The lack of strength in my legs started to show and the lactic acid settled. The first two sets were okay though. I felt kinda sick after the last 300 so I just sat for a bit. My leg didn't hurt at all during the workout and I only felt it a tiny bit during the cool down so (knock on wood) maybe its finally starting to get bored of hurting me. Cooled down and then walked home.
