Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Warm up .5 mile easy
Stop, stretch get some strides in
Run a 6 mile tempo run starting at 8 min pace and progressing down to mid and low 7's if possible
I would get some type of fuel or drink in you after a mile or so, so that you can finish strong in heat. Just see how you feel and to what you can. One mike at a time!
Cool down very easy 1.5 miles

splits on relatively hilly course:
mile 1: 8:00 min
mile 2: 7:40 min
mile 3: 7:37 min
mile 4: 7:59 min
mile 5: 7:28 min
mile 6: 8:15 min ... had to wait at light
had about 0.5 mile cool down..did not have much time.
