Couldn't really get a run in throughout the day so I went for a night run at cass park. With the moon out and lights on down there it was pretty light. Coach said that I should do 60-70 or 45 if my legs were feeling bad. And I gotta say they were still pretty beat. They felt fine until about 20 mins in and then from there until about 38 mins they felt terrible, but then they were alright. I didn't want to risk anything though so I cut the run short. No need to kill it after such a packed day of running yesterday. On the run I was thinking about how this sport is such a balancing act. Everything is really a balance. I was thinking about my bad races or runs in general and what might have caused them. Being too pumped for a race, not pumped enough, eating too much or too little, making a move too early or too late, when you train too much or too little. You always have to find that right balance.
