Comments:
ran to AU for my time trial really really wishing I had chosen not to do it. I continued wishing that until I was finished. Anthony paced me the whole way and Katherine paced me for the second half. I really thought I was going to quit and make it a 1200 time trial or something like that. I kept telling myself that soon I'd slow down or give up and there was no way I would do it. Eventually I just got to a certain point where I figured well, I've made it this far, I guess I may as well just push it. That ended up being a 10 second PR, and a 39 second PR for the season. I'm feeling really really lucky.
really sorry that Noah and Rhianna didn't quite get the races that they really deserved. I'm also really regretting that we didn't do our own girls Swedish Relay with Abby on her bike. Mainly because the picture that the boys took looked so cool. Erkin and Jack's 800s were also really great!
It felt weird that this was the end of the season and of my high school career, just 10 or so of us at AU. In addition to marking the end of the season, this also is the last time I ever wear those spikes. Both shoes have rips down both sides and they have 5 spikes between them. Additionally, I think they're very thin on the bottom, so I ended up with two blisters on the bottom of my feet from the heat of the track (hence the title) and got a ride back from Matt Leder instead of jogging back. I guess I'm on break now, which I'm already kinda sad about. The good news is that I no longer have to obsessively hydrate.
