Lizzy and I were running steeple and it was at Elmira because Horseheads doesn't have a steeple pit. It was so strange because there was like nobody there. It felt like a time trial. I hated how quiet it was, it didn't feel like I was about to race. My legs were heavy and I felt kinda sick on the warmup, partly I think because it was so hot and humid. I really wanted to pr but I wasn't sure if I could, especially because there was nobody really for me to race against. Coach told me to take the first two laps easy and then pick it up. My hurdles were good but the water barriers were all terrible. For the first several laps I was a bit behind Alivia Collins. I felt like I was going so slowly but I was so tired at the same time. Before every barrier Alivia would studder step and it kept messing me up. I probably should have gone around her a bit sooner so that didn't happen. On the last lap I heard Coach say that I had a good time which really surprised me. I felt like I couldn't finish, I barely even kicked which I am really mad about. My time was a 5s pr. After I was tired but I quickly recovered and I didn't feel like I normally do after a race. After a 10min cooldown, we drove over to Horseheads. I didn't start warming up for the 4x4 until around the 2mile. My warmup was really slow and I had a headache being out in the sun for o long. I was kind of excited for the 4x4 but mostly just really nervous. I thought that I went out really fast then slowed way down but everyone said it was the opposite. For the last 100m my legs were going to give out and I could barely hand off to Emma. We all had a 65 split which was cool. That was one of the most painful races I have ever done besides the 3k. Afterwards I was like I never want to do that again, but now I definitely want to. We actually won sectionals! I was so shocked because we hadn't beaten Corning once this year and earlier I heard some sprinters complaining about making finales and saying how they tried not to.
