Well rested and speedy!

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: overcast and cool. Roads damp from rain earlier

Comments:
Some rest did me a whole lot of good. While I only took Thursday off, I ran early on Wednesday and late today, so the result was something like 60 hours off between runs. It was sorely needed though. I was getting some uncharacteristic shin splints and deep muscle soreness in my glutes. By this morning that had finally cleared out I was actually starting to feel rested when I woke up this morning.

Started hard and kept the pace up through the whole thing. Got a bit of a stitch in my side during the last half mile, but pushed through it to the end. Very good result as you can see (9 minutes faster from Wednesday! Over two minutes faster pace. Yipes!) I hope that the short second leg next week goes as well.

Last long run before RTB will be tomorrow. It was going to be today, but I got home late and the daylight wasn't going to last. Still, six days prior should be enough time to ease off.
