June 29, 2016 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 80s, humid, hotter than I'm used to
Comments:
Left the apt around 5pm and zigzagged up to the West Side Community Garden where I paused to do leg swings in a terrific pocket park. Felt SO much looser after the leg swings, but still generally slow and heavy. Took a relaxed pace, maybe north of 8:00/mile? Went into Central Park and got onto the bridal path which was a nice cinder trail I'd rarely used. Bailed off at its terminus near Central Park South and got onto the loop road as usual. Even though I was keeping speed with a family of bikers, I was crawling and full of overheated despair. I paused for lots of water in the southeast corner of the park. After a few minutes of drinking and splashing, i felt MUCH better and the pace improved from there on. At the East side entrance to the Reservoir, I got back onto the bridal path and took it around to 86th and then went back to the apartment where I finished with 2 ugly striders.
Tuesday night I walked nearly 4 miles and Wednesday night I walked another three or so. Feet are feeling the load and the legs are a little heavy. Also Stayed out with Luigi a bit late Wednesday night.
