Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
got up early but didn't get to run till 10:20 anyways because I had to take my dad to the metro. I parked in bethesda and then walked and jogged to the CCT. I did a bunch of dynamic and static stretches and felt very diligent. The first half of the run felt pretty good and I was focusing a lot on form. I think my form might be getting better because my glutes and hamstrings were tight from yesterday and I've been told I need to engage them more. After going over that little bridge over river road the second time I felt bad. Even a tiny hill like that bridge knocks the wind out of me and my breathing remained bad for the rest of the run. Definitely got slower on the way back. My knee bothered me but certainly didn't get worse over the course of the run and I don't think it's worse than it was.
afterwards I went to the gym and iced while I stretched then lifted. I've been doing the same exercises a few times because those are the ones I'm sure won't affect my knee. For strength I did 2 sets of the following. (I ran out of time on my parking thing before the third set.)
SDL 10x31 lbs
stingers 5
DB row 15x10lbs ES
Pushups 15
Sprinter Crunches
2 VMO targeting exercises that Dr. Beck gave me, 15 for each
seated leg lifts- 15 ES
Clams 30 ES
Other Clamlike thing 15 ES
