July 29, 2016 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70s, but very humid after a night of rains
Comments:
Felt horrible as I jogged slower than an ice truck going up a hill of molasses in the wintertime to join up with the Crawlers at 5:45am. Was relieved to have Sam's pace, but we were quickly joined by Rob W and Jim E who set us on a legit pace somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00 (I can't tell pace at the moment as I'm struggling too much at the moment.) Took Vann Ness to Mass to Westmoreland which we circled. At Ward, I peeled off alone and trudged home along Nebraska and Wisc and 41st. Pace was "unhurried" and the final downhill mile from Tenley was a 7:50. Somehow I conivnced myself to do 4 strong striders out front of 3944 at the end, but between each I had to spend 60 seconds catching my breath. Each run this week is getting a bit better, but I'm still far from being "out of the woods." Hoping cooler weather, flat terrain, low humidity, and increasing red blood cells will all make a difference soon. These dead legged runs with zero energy are taking the fun out of summer.
