Aidan Pillard niecly biked about 10 miles to our house and we headed off at 9:30am with my 16 year-old nephew Tobi. I biked next to them for about 2.5 miles to reach the top of Sanford Farm. I locked the bike and ran the full loop (not extending the extra loop near the end. It took me 43 minutes to run Sanford Farms. I then remounted the bike and accompanied them for 7 minutes while biking. Tobi hit his 70 minute mark and took the bike and I ran the final 13 minutes home via Madaket Rd for a total of 56 minutes of running for me. It was hard to join them when we started the trails as they'd warmed up for 19 minutes and I'd just tired my quads but nothing else on the ride over. Once I loosened up, I could run with them, but the uphills and the last mile were tough. They ran the extended loop and accelerated and got to the turnstile at the same time I did as I'd slowed a bit. At least I'm not feeling awful anymore, but I'm definitely not feeling fresh either. the miles and long days of activity are certainly wearing me down. (Still need to backlog more from the week, but will go to sleep now.)
