According to MMR, this 5k was about .03 miles short, but that would really only add 10 seconds to my time. Anyway, I made sure to get a good start today, but then keep up that pace for the race. My 1 mile split was 6:49, which I felt good about, knowing that I was well ahead of my goal pace. Mile 2 seemed a little bit slower, but then on the last mile I picked up the pace, not wanting to get passed by anyone, and instead passing others. My previous PR for a flat 5k was about 22:30 in June, so I feel like I really improved due to the summer training. This was the best I feel like I have ever run before. Got and back did a cooldown. My legs were sore during it, which is probably to be expected. Cooldown distance is approximate. Then did some stretching.
