Back logging for good now. I'll be catching up on everything throughout the next few days. Started today with a little over a mile warmup. It was extremely hot and humid out and I knew the workout would be really tough through the heat. Met with Silas and Noah right before we started and the rain started up. It literally started to downpour within a minute. I was very happy for the rain because it kept us cool. It was also a chance for an epic first workout back. We all state the first mile together aiming for 5:40. We went out at a really easy pace and cut it down throughout the run. The rain didn't really affect us too much on this one it was more of the wind than anything. Me and Silas ran together with Noah right behind us until the end where we hit 5:28. So a little quick but pretty much on pace. I wasn't feeling anything at all after this one through the 2:30 rest. I felt the next one a lot more. The goal was to just pickup the pace a little bit. It was definitely tough with the rain and wind. And our shoes were really heavy. Derf even slipped up at one point. Silas almost dropped me with 200 left but I told myself to just push a little hard so I closed the gap at the end. Time was 5:05. The next one was a little easier than the last one but not much. We had to go through some deeper puddles but bedsides that the conditions were the same. Derf really put on the speed during the last 200 again. Something I can't do... Yet. But for now I couldn't match that pickup because he's in better shape. He's gonna be a major threat this year. Closed a little at the end in 5:19. Gotta say I was elated to be back in a workout with Silas and Noah. It's been something I've been missing for awhile. Achilles felt fine afterwards too. Finished with a mile, then hurdles. Through the conditions these were some solid times, especially on limited training. Pumped to finally be back getting into the swing of things, big confidence builder.
