Left school early yesterday, wasn't feeling well, so I missed practice. Unfortunately, not doing the workout with the team made it difficult to get my goal paces for the tempo. I ran from my house on West Hill, and did the tempo around the Marina/Dogpark Area, on the grass trail. I did the last 5 mintues hard on a little bit of pavement on the way back from the dogpark, but mostly grass. I guess this was one of those runs when it's more about effort than pace. Still, during the Andris 5k I was doing my 5k with around a 6:56 pace, which was a good improvement for me over the summer. But today, even on a pretty much flat course, I was not hitting my goal paces, which was probably because I didn't have the other JV guys to push me. I still don't know why my tempo felt fast but it was a little over an 8 minute pace. On the way back, I ran past Island, then the last 13+ mintues were up Elm St. and Elm St. Ext., then took a left on Coy Glen back to my house.
Update: did 31 regular push-ups and 31 leg lifts before bed. Not much, but not nothing.
