Exercise Type: Run
Weather: warm and sunny (as usual)
Comments:
This was an interesting race. I definitely started out too slow, which set a tone for the rest of the race. I should have gotten out with Jeremy and Devon and stuck with them. I went a decent pace for the next mile, but after that I slowed down. I passed Shea and Aidan, so I thought my pace was good, but I should not have guaged myself against my teamates. At mile 2 when B yelled at me to race instead of tempo, I sped up a bit but still was too slow, as Tommy was running too slow and I judged myself against him (I know, bad idea). I finished the race with an okay time, but I could have pushed myself harder. On the bright side, I love my spikes and don't know how I raced without them.
What I learned: Don't pace yourself against your teammates, if they have a bad race, you will too. Also, start out fast, it sets a tone for the rest of the race. Overall, just run faster.
