Salesianum

October 1, 2016 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I've always liked Salesianum and this year's race didn't change that, but I don't think my race was particularly good. I think my weird week of training and the remnants of my cold affected me this week. I also just simply failed to leave everything out there and walked away from this one feeling fresh and ready to do it again, even hours later after the adrenalin had worn off. Mile 1 was as intended, strong but controlled. I did everything right on Maintenance Hill and continued passing people throughout the second mile, I just wasn't going fast enough though. I think Mile 2 was 7:18. Mile 3 was strong as well, I think I passed at least 20 people in the vicinity of the Death March and entered into a duel with 2 Penncrest kids all while trying to catch up to Ben who was 7 seconds in front of me for much of the 3rd mile. I did everything the way I should have done it, I paced myself correctly and I ran the hills and straightaways like I should have, I just wasn't going fast enough. I don't believe I was suffering at any one point during my race. However, I'm not going to harp on my poor race, due to the fact that I'm still barely over my cold and it's probably affecting me in unseen ways.
