Well I have both a new 6k PR and a new 5k PR. We ran today at a really nice, flat, fast 6k course at Westfield State University. It was my first time racing a 6k (hence the PR) which was a little intimidating. It was only 3 minutes longer than any 5k I've ever run though. I felt kinda bad from the start. I think I'm pretty tired from a bunch of higher mileage weeks. I did settle into a rhythm some but it was kind of difficult to motivate the whole time. The one, tiny hill felt more difficult than I had hoped. I got to the finish line thinking it went very poorly but it turned out I 5k PRed by a lot. There were no markers unfortunately but my pace means that my average 5k was 22:49, a PR by 1 minute and 12 seconds. Definitely can't complain about that. In all likelihood my pacing wasn't even and there was a slightly faster 5k in there somewhere but I don't know what it is. So I'm pretty happy with that and really looking forward to racing next weekend. My teammates ran really well which is so much fun to see! Congrats to everyone at Glory Days today!! Wish I could be there.
Most importantly: I caught a leaf on the cool down. Current count stands at a measly 2
