Mud March

Ironically called glory days, as it was a rather inglorious race for me. The disgusting amounts of mud that covered the course made it a difficult day to race anyway, but I still failed to perform. I'm not sure what happened today. I started out in 6:15, which is fine, but I had tried to go out fast, and failed miserably at it. I was then unable to continue running at that pace, which is worrisome. I continued to slow down and my second mile was 6:40. My third mile/1.11 was 7:25, a 6:40 mile pace. However, the back-to-back 6:40's suggest I was in too much control and that I can speed it up significantly. This was not a good race. The conditions were less than ideal, but still, this race should have been better than my Oatlands time. I think that the stresses of the last two weeks got to me and I was unable to shake them off.
