Comments:
I felt super ready and confident going into this race. I was ready to push is and really do well. Don't really know what to think of how the race actually went. Happy with the start, got out well within the top 15 maybe and never got boxed in. As soon as we hit the first hill my legs just fatigued instantly. Not sure if its because of the shot I got on Wednesday or because I haven't done hill workouts on a while, but it was rough. The uphills were super hard but I was able to fly down the downhills and gain ground on the girls in front of me. Didn't have much of a kick at the end. When I saw my time at the end of the race I was just disappointed. I knew that it was way slower then we needed it to be, especially for merge purposes. Going into the race, I wanted to run somewhere between 5:35-5:45. After the race in the cool down, mentally I just felt like I hadn't raced. It was weird; I know I can go faster than I did, but I felt like I was giving it my all. Maybe I settled for being in the top 10 which didn't push me as much. On another notes, my legs feel like trash. Will probably cross train the next two days otherwise I will literally be waling through the fire instead of running. It was a really fun weekend though, and I tried salad for the first time. Bummed that we didn't do what we wanted to as a team but happy that we get to race Marathon. Just means I get to race one extra time before senior year ends.
