Warmup and cooldown distances are approximate.
Got to the meet today and my right hamstring was a little sore. It didn't bother me during the race, though. I started off pretty slow on the warmup, and it took me a while to actually feel warmed up, because my legs were tired and sore at first from the week. I started off faster on the race than last time. I never understand why other runners talk to each other in the beginning; when I talk while running, I sometimes get a cramp. Anyway, Walter passed me on the first hill that we went up. Once again, my hill running was lacking. After a little over a mile, though, I passed him. Some lady in the crowd at around the halfway mark was shouting that we're almost at the home stretch, which was a little annoying. Despite all of this, I felt pretty focused during the race. The last hill was pretty challenging, but after that I really picked up the pace even more, and was catching up to Garrett, who has gotten a lot faster, as well as Samson. I ended not catching Garrett, but I still feel like I finished well. I do feel like my speed is lacking. My endurance seems to be good, but I do not have the necessary speed yet to compete with bigger, stronger runners. I liked the course today, and JV guys got 1st, so that's cool.
