Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
We were going around 7:50 pace on some of the warmup so I dropped back a little at the end because I didn't want to be out of breath before the workout even started. We have been going pretty fast on warmups lately which is ok but I just think that our warmup pace should be something we can comfortably do for runs. Also I included the course jog in the warmup because the site isn't letting me add more than 5 intervals. The 1st two reps were right on pace. They were hard especially because of the wind. This is were my metal state was really bad because I thought oh these ones are hard so I won't do well on the faster ones. I've been making a habbit of telling myself this lately and I think it's partly just a way to feel sorry for myself about not being able to go as fast as I want to. I deffinitely wish I could keep up with Zoe. I'm glad she is back this year and doing well I just wish I could close the gap between us a bit. I really wish my times were faster than they are. At Marathon I went out fast and my plan was to hang on for dear life but I couldn't and when the West Genny girls passed me part of me just gave up. I hate having the disappointment of feeling like I couldn't have gone faster and then my time being slow. Anyways I'm ramblingt. I told myself to suck it up and that I could do the hard reps. The first hammer was killer but in a good way, at first I was annoyed that I couldn't keep up with Zoe but then I was like no, I'm happy with my time and I need to focus on my workout. The 2nd one wasn't so great but I still felt alright about it. The last rep was supposed to be a slower pace, unfortunately I was 6 seconds slower than my time. I was perfect at the 200 but at the 400 I was 4 seconds behind I kept that time until the 500 and when I got over the hill I felt like I was pushing really hard to cut off those 4 seconds but somehow I managed to be 6 seconds slow. That was pretty disapointing but I'm fairly happy with this workout. I learned a good bit from it (and the past week) partly because I have been getting better at moving on from disapointment. I gave a solid effort today so even though my times weren't ideal I am happy that I can move on from it feeling confident. On another note, my foot has been hurting a lot more since Saturday so I didn't wear spikes, which was annoying wearing trainers for the 1000's. My back is up and down but right now I just need to keep doing my pt excercises and anything that will keep the pain down. My pt takes like an hour which is so annoying amd I never have time to do all of it so I usual just end up alternating excercises each day.
