Lifting and Core

I've got some homework, so realized that it might be a better use of my time to do lifting and jump roping as cross training. A three mile run at an easy pace wouldn't seem to advance my fitness as much as an intense lifting and core session. Maybe I'm wrong. I did:

4 x 20 overhead dumbbell press (10 lbs. each arm)
40 bicep curls each arm with 10 lbs., at once
30 push-ups
40 leg lifts
60 crunches
150 total cherry-pickers
50 calf raises on stairs, both legs at once
31 push-ups
2 minute wall sit (legs felt stiff after this)
10 minutes of jump roping (more tiring on arms than I remembered)
50 squats (15 lbs. each arm)
