WOW! I think this was my favorite race this year!
My goal for this race was to be in the top 12 MHS girls. Which i am! :D
What i could have done better is, i think if i had ran closer to Julie in the race the whole time instead of catching her later in the race we both could have gotten better times.
I don't really know what i did great, but i just feel like this was a great race all together!
Mile one, Super crammed, trying not to kick peoples shoes, VERY dusty! I didn't really think about the pain at all because i was so distracted with passing groups, and trying to get out of the clumps! The sand was not as bad as i was expecting which was defiantly a plus!
Mile two, the hill wasn't too bad the first time. I noticed i was pumping my arms so hard! Just like Bam Bam Bam haha it really helps! I also ran down the hill right this time!!!! I just let myself go and all the sudden i was at the bottom! it was great!
At the end of mile two (i think) was when Julie caught Sarah. It was right after the second time we went on the sand on that grassy loop before the hill. Then all i could think about was getting up there to run with them. I finally got up to them at the bottom of the hill the second time.
Mile three, i don't really remember where mile 3 starts, but i remember that after i went down the hill the second time, i knew all we had was a shaded grassy finish! so i tried to kick it in knowing how much was left. It felt great to finish! Especial in the top 12!!!! :D
The one major thing i kept remembering the whole race was Nike Cross Nationals when i went and ran with some of the other girls from the team, and i didn't finish the race. I still remember how disappointed i was in myself, i still am. On that race i walked off right before the sand on the second loop. Even thinking back to it now it's so discouraging, i cant believe i quit. But just thinking about that during the race and knowing how much better i felt it was so great. It was like something to run for!
Well anyways, this was an amazing race! Defiantly my favorite so far! We have such an amazing team! This year ROCKS!! :D GO Meridian!
